NUOVA AURORA MILANO

A project with two integrated research paths carried out at CFP Bauer during the ‘Laboratorio tipografico’ course.

1. Study, composition and printing of the Aurora movable typeface to experiment with different approaches to specimen preparation, designed and printed by students using the equipment in the movable type typography workshop. Through these objectives, the class also acquired basic skills for designing and implementing a small publishing project.

2. Survey of the typeface forms, digital processing with an initial approach to type design for a new version inspired by a place or concept in the city of Milan. Finally, the results were included in the final edition and compared with the original movable typeface.
